John

That You May Believe

Book Introduction

Written by the apostle John, this Gospel is unique in its focus on the divinity of Christ. While the other Gospels emphasize Jesus’ ministry and teachings, John reveals Him as the eternal Word made flesh—the Son of God who came to bring life. Through seven signs and seven “I AM” statements, John shows that Jesus is the fulfillment of all God’s promises.

The central theme of John is belief. From its opening words—“In the beginning was the Word”—to its closing purpose statement, this Gospel calls us to see, know, and trust Jesus as Savior and Lord. It highlights His love, His power, and His mission to reconcile the world to the Father.

For us today, John is an invitation to deeper intimacy with Christ. It reminds us that eternal life is not just a future promise but a present reality for those who believe.
